A Journey of Global Recognition and Musical Excellen

In 2018, Sandra’s talent was recognized with the prestigious Alondra de la Parra y Montblanc Scholarship. Her international acclaim continued to grow as she won the National Award in the Vienna World Music Competition for Conductors in June 2020. Sandra’s prowess as a conductor was further solidified when she became a finalist in the International Competition for Conductors in Paraguay with the National Symphony and the Cordoba Symphony Orchestra. Her journey to success culminated in her winning the First Prize in the Musicalia Conducting Competition in Havana. In 2021–22, she served as a Conducting Fellow with the Georgia Symphony Orchestra, and in 2023, she was awarded the Carlos Miguel Prieto Conducting Fellowship. She is currently a Conducting Fellow with The Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra, a testament to her international recognition and success. She also serves as the Music Director of the Tampa Metropolitan Youth Orchestra.

Sandra – A Global Conductor and Passionate Music Educator

In addition to extensive work in the United States, Mexico, and her native Cuba, Sandra has also conducted in the Czech Republic, Spain, Germany, Uruguay, Argentina, and Venezuela. Sandra was invited to assist in the opera La Traviata by Verdi in Slovenia, performing in over ten productions across Slovenia and Croatia in 2023. This coming summer, she will be one of the Assistant Conductors in Berlin for The Magic Flute opera. She is currently completing her DMA in Orchestral Conducting at the University of Cincinnati–College-Conservatory of Music.

In parallel with her conducting career, Sandra has developed a strong reputation as a dedicated music educator. She has taught piano and voice to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced, in both private and institutional settings. Her teaching approach blends solid technical training with artistic sensitivity, fostering the growth and confidence of each student. Her experience includes work in Cuba, Mexico, and the United States, where she currently teaches at the Cincinnati School of Music.
